Characterised by outstanding craftsmanship, iconic artistry and assured purity, The Perth Mint has revealed Australia’s official bullion coin program for 2019.

Issued annually since 1987, the trusted releases offer an outstanding choice of pure gold, silver and platinum coins, each authorised by the Australian Government as official legal tender.

Extremely popular with investors, Australian Lunar coins celebrate the 12 animals of the Chinese lunar calendar. In 2019, the coin artistry portrays a Labrador Retriever on the 99.99% pure gold releases, and German Shepherds on the 99.99% pure silver coins, marking the Year of the Pig.

The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar dog include 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be loyal, amiable, kind and friendly.

The Australian Lunar 2019 Year of the Pig Gold Bullion Coin Series is available in multiple sizes and mintages. Production of the coins with unlimited mintages will close at the end of 2019 when The Perth Mint will declare each coin’s official mintage.

A maximum mintage of 30,000 1oz gold coins applies. Production will cease when the mintage is fully sold or at the end of the series, whichever comes first.
